Steve is a Partner with 40 years of experience advising individuals and families on highly customized, purpose-driven wealth management strategies, pairing deep technical expertise with a thoughtful, relationship-based approach.

Prior to joining Pennington, Steve was Managing Director with Tiedemann Advisors for over a decade where he managed client relationships and led business operations for the Washington, DC office. He also served as President of Tiedemann Trust Company from 2022 to 2025. Earlier in his career he was Executive Director at Convergent Wealth Advisors where he led the advisor team in addition to working with some of the firm’s largest clients. He began his professional career in accounting and law, practicing as an estate planning attorney for 10 years prior to transitioning to family office work.

Steve has consistently been named in Washingtonian’s Top Advisor list. He is Treasurer of the Board of A Wider Circle, a local nonprofit dedicated to ending poverty.

Steve holds a Master of Laws and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Emory University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional.
