Eric Rosen

Eric Rosen is an experienced investor and advisor with three decades in credit, trading, and special situations investing. He currently runs his family office, investing across public and private markets with a focus on venture capital, private equity, specialty finance, real estate, and stressed or distressed opportunities. Eric also advises and consults for a range of companies, serves on multiple boards, and sits on the investment committee of 3i, an investment and social networking club.
Eric is the founder of The Rosen Report, a widely read Substack newsletter launched during the pandemic, which blends personal reflections with insights on markets, economics, politics, and world affairs.
Previously, Eric founded Reef Road Capital, a Credit Opportunities fund that managed nearly $850 million at its peak. Reef Road invested across the capital structure with an emphasis on special situations and distressed opportunities, delivering strong performance before returning capital to investors in 2020.
Before Reef Road, Eric spent over two decades on Wall Street. He was Managing Director and Co-Head of Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (FICC) – Americas at UBS, overseeing credit flow and global distressed trading. Prior to UBS, he was a Managing Director at JPMorgan, where he led North American Credit Trading and Global Loan Trading, producing record results through the 2008 financial crisis and becoming one of the youngest Managing Directors at the firm at age 28. His career began at Bank of America/Continental Bank as a senior loan trader.
Eric has served as Chairman of the Credit Markets Division and on the Board of Directors of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), representing the industry in discussions with the Federal Reserve, SEC, NASD, and Bank of England on derivatives, clearing, and regulatory reforms.
He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BS in Finance and Accounting from Florida State University.
Passionate about community and mentorship, Eric supports the Pediatric Neurology Department at New York Cornell Hospital and the Children’s Health Council. He has mentored professional NBA players as well as numerous students and young professionals. He also served as Co-Chairman of both the Apollo Family Circle and the Acquisitions Fund Dinner at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
