About the Position
The Sr. Investment Analyst/Investment Associate will be responsible for due diligence of alternative and traditional investments across private and public markets, analysis of client investment portfolios, asset allocation, and performance monitoring. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, performance-driven environment, and committed to delivering a high-quality, accurate product on a time-sensitive basis. This position can be based in New York City, NY or Bethesda, MD.
What You’ll Do
• Collaborate with the investment team to conduct due diligence on private and public investment opportunities, primarily focused on private equity, private credit, hedge funds, and other alternative investment funds as well as select long-only funds
• Source, underwrite, and evaluate primary fund commitments and co-investment opportunities.
• Work with the investment team to allocate assets for Pennington's UHNW operating partner families
• Develop investment memos, manager reviews, and recommendation materials for Investment Committee meetings
• Conduct full-cycle diligence including qualitative analysis, financial modeling, and risk analysis
• Support monitoring of existing investments
What You’ll Need
• 3-5 years of relevant experience at an endowment, foundation, family office, institutional investment/allocator platform, or investment bank with a track record of relevant experience such as manager selection across alternative investments and/or direct and co-investments
• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business, Finance, Math, Accounting, or Economics preferred
• Strong financial analysis and modeling skills
• Collaborate with senior investment team and mentor analysts to conduct due diligence and author investment memo recommendations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines while exerting a high level of attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated with a continuous process improvement mindset
