About the role:

The ideal candidate will work closely with the Managing Director of Pennington Private Access (PPA) to develop and deepen relationships with family offices, registered investment advisors, broker dealers, and large potential clients as investors in our industry leading and award winning tax-advantaged alternative business. PPA is an investment platform offering exposure to targeted segments of the private equity asset class, led by an experienced institutional investor. PPA is one of several alternative investment strategies within Pennington’s alternative investment business. This role will serve as the organization back-bone of our alternatives business while helping to lead outbound efforts in developing optimal long-term partnerships for the firm.

What you’ll do:

  • Your responsibilities will include:

  • Research:

    • Work alongside the head of Private Access to uncover and identify quantifiable investor leads within the family office, RIA, and broker dealer communities.

    • Identify target listing and create custom qualifying criteria as well as pitch and presentation materials.

    • Leverage the capabilities of Salesforce to create database of current and prospective investors.

    • Survey and monitor the competitive landscape for other alternative investment platforms including growth, size, investors etc.

    • Understand and develop competitive tax-advantaged differentiators that the PPA platform may potentially offer

    • Generate detailed reports to share with leadership to allow for more concrete decision making on targets.

  • Business Development:

    • Obtain understanding of alternative investment classes, with an initial focus on private equity

    • Work directly with the CEO with pre-qualifying and arrange discovery meetings with new prospective investors

    • Engage with prospective clients and partners to understand their investment preferences, and risk tolerance

    • Create compelling presentations and sales collateral to effectively communicate the unique value proposition of PPA

    • Continued customer relationship management with investors and partners

What we’re looking for:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree within a business major with 2-3 years working within financial management, asset management or private wealth advisory business.

  • Strong interest in wealth management, alternative investments and private equity.

  • Excellent research skills utilizing targeted search capability.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.

  • Highest level of integrity and honesty.

  • Confident, self-motivated, and self-directed.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with a curiosity for finding the answers to questions.

  • Can proactively manage tasks and issues, and escalate issues as appropriate.
