Wednesday, November 13 to Friday, November 15. The official program begins on November 13 at 6:00 pm PT, preceded by an invite-only session for Pennington Operating Partner families at 5:15pm.

The resort is accessible from three airports in the Los Angeles, California area.

John Wayne Airport (SNA) is closest to the resort, a 15-20 minute drive by car. We recommend you arrive via this airport if possible because there can be a lot of unpredictable traffic from the two other airports in the area. You can fly here directly from Houston, New York City and several other locations. If you are flying from airports in the Washington, DC area, please note there are few non-stop flights to this airport.

Long Beach Airport (LGB) is a 30-minute or longer drive away, depending on traffic. As with SNA, you can fly here directly from Houston, New York City and several other locations. If you are flying from airports in the Washington, DC area, please note there are few non-stop flights to this airport.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has plenty of available flights from all airports, though it can take from 45 minutes to two hours to drive from there to the resort, depending on traffic. Please plan your travel time accordingly!

Uber and Lyft
Rideshares, such as Uber and Lyft are available, and the one-way fare starts at $25-$35 from John Wayne Airport, depending on traffic. Please consult your Lyft or Uber app upon arrival for current fares, ride types, and rates.

Taxis and Black Cars
Taxis and black cars are available at all airports. If you prefer black car service, a good option is to contact the Pelican HIll concierge at (888) 267-7771 who can assist with booking. They use a private luxury transportation service called Best VIP. Rates are based on airport and vehicle type.

At LAX Airport: When leaving LAX, meet your driver (Taxis, Uber, Lyft) at the LAX-it lot next to Terminal 1 (they do not pick up from the terminals.) You can either walk or take a free LAX-it shuttle to get to the LAX-it lot. Free shuttles arrive at each terminal outside of baggage claim on the first level and travel in a dedicated lane. Wait by the green LAX-it bus stop signs for pick-up. 

If you choose to walk to LAX-it, the walk route is marked with large LAX-it signs with a clear path to LAX-it on the sidewalk outside of baggage claim. There is also signage that marks the way from Terminal 7 to cross the street to LAX-it. Here are more details.

Driving Directions
You can find driving directions to the resort from each airport on Pelican HIll’s website. Simply scroll down to the bottom of the home page, and you will find directions to the resort from each nearby airport.

Rental Car Parking
The resort fee covers overnight parking for two cars per Bungalow. Additional cars are $25 each per night.

Check-in begins at 4pm on 11/13, and check-out is 11am on 11/15. If you want to arrange a different check-in or check-out time as it gets close to the event, please inquire at the front desk at (888) 507-6427 and they will do their best to accommodate.

We have also secured discounted rates for three nights preceding and three nights following the retreat, should you wish to extend your stay.

During the day we expect a high of 70 and sunny weather. In the evenings, we expect temperatures in the 50s and suggest you bring a sweater or light jacket. 

Daytime attire is smart casual, and dinner attire is business casual (jackets optional, polos are fine.) We want you to be comfortable!  

We emailed those who RSVPed a poll to select your excursion preferences, along with dress code recommendations for each excursion type.

E-Bike Tour: Helmets included, closed toed shoes required. Wear comfortable clothing, no long dresses or flowy pants.

Golf: Appropriate golf attire is preferred but not strictly enforced. Bermuda length shorts permitted, no shoes with metal spikes.

San Juan Capistrano VIP Mission Tour and Gardens: Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Crystal Cove State Park One-Hour Hike: Wear comfortable walking shoes.
