Rodd J. Macklin
Co-Founder and CFO
Rodd is a Co-Founder of Pennington Partners & Co. and serves as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. In addition, Rodd serves on the Investment Committee of Pennington Partners & Co. Rodd also serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of NGP Energy Technology Partners (NGP ETP), a private equity fund management firm that he joined in 2008. Rodd also co-founded and serves as a Partner at SaaS Ventures.
Prior to joining NGP ETP, Rodd served for eleven years as the Chief Financial Officer of Perseus, LLC. At Perseus, Rodd was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. At Perseus, Rodd also managed and oversaw the family office for the managing partner, who created significant wealth in the private equity sector. Rodd’s previous experience includes serving as the Head of Business Development for the Bethesda buyout team at American Capital Strategies, a publicly-traded alternative asset manager. Earlier in his career, Rodd served as Chief Financial Officer in a family business that was ultimately sold to a public company.
Rodd also held positions previously at Legg Mason and Arthur Andersen and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst. Rodd holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the College of William and Mary.
Rodd is actively involved in the Washington D.C. community supporting various causes that are important to him and his family.
